About this experience

Arunachal Pradesh is one of India's last frontiers for trekking. Much of the state is mountainous and forested, with few roads and very few trekkers, so trails feel genuinely wild. Options range from gentle day hikes to demanding multi-day expeditions.

Around Ziro, walks lead through pine and bamboo forests to Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and ridge-top viewpoints. In Mechuka, day hikes climb to Samten Yongcha Monastery, meadows and frozen lakes in winter. Around Tawang, high-altitude treks visit lakes such as Nagula and P.T. Tso and the Gorichen region for experienced trekkers. In the east, Namdapha's forest trails toward Firmbase and Bulbulia combine trekking with wildlife.

Because many routes pass through community land and protected areas, we always trek with local guides and porters, respect village rules and follow Leave No Trace principles. Multi-day treks require additional forest permissions, which we arrange. Fitness requirements vary from easy to strenuous, and altitude must be respected on any route above 3,000 m.
