Siang river at Pasighat, Adi villages around Aalo, Samten Yongcha Monastery, Siyom river hanging bridges, Mechuka meadow hikes
Overview
Mechuka is one of Arunachal Pradesh's most spectacular and least-visited valleys, a wide grassy bowl on the Siyom river surrounded by snow peaks just 29 km from the McMahon Line. This tour takes the scenic route from Dibrugarh across the Bogibeel bridge to Pasighat, Arunachal's oldest town on the mighty Siang, and then through Adi villages to Aalo.
In Mechuka you will spend three nights exploring the 400-year-old Samten Yongcha Monastery, hanging bridges over the Siyom, Memba villages and meadow hikes with snow views, before returning via Aalo. It is a long road journey, rewarded with landscapes few travellers ever see.
